Our Character Aged White Oak Timbers are individually hand-hewn to recreate the authentic character and craftsmanship of traditional reclaimed timbers. Using techniques refined over time, each timber is carefully worked by hand to create natural-looking tool marks, texture, and subtle variations that give the wood a distinctive, timeworn appearance. The result is a timber with the warmth, depth, and rustic character of an original hand-hewn beam while maintaining a more consistent and versatile finished product.
Unlike our authentic reclaimed barn timbers, Character Aged White Oak Timbers are free from the rafter notches, mortise pockets, and other structural markings commonly found in salvaged beams. This provides greater flexibility when positioning and installing the timbers while still achieving an authentic reclaimed appearance. Naturally aged White Oak also offers exceptional strength and durability, making these timbers an excellent choice for structural applications, exposed beams, posts, mantels, and other architectural details where both character and performance are important.

Few materials capture the character of reclaimed wood quite like authentic hand-hewn timbers. Originally shaped by craftsmen using hand tools, each beam carries distinctive axe marks, irregular textures, checking, and signs of age that tell the story of its original construction. Salvaged from historic barns and structures, these timbers preserve a tangible piece of American craftsmanship while bringing warmth, scale, and unmistakable character to both traditional and contemporary spaces.
Each timber is individually selected for its appearance, quality, and suitability for the intended application. Available from our extensive inventory of reclaimed material, hand-hewn timbers can be used for interior and exterior beams, structural or decorative posts, porch columns, mantels, entry features, and other architectural details. Their naturally aged surfaces and one-of-a-kind characteristics make every timber unique, creating architectural elements that simply cannot be duplicated with newly manufactured wood. Available in hand-hewn and sawn textures.
